Due to the capacity limit of our venue, the guestlist is limited to those who have been named on the save the date.

Can I bring a gift?

We appreciate the time and effort that all of our guests will be making to join us in Cornwall for our wedding, therefore we do not expect gifts, and your presence on our special day is the best present we could ask for.
However, if you would like to, then any donations to our honeymoon fund would be very gratefully received.

Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you refrain from using your phones to take photos or videos during the ceremony.
During the drinks reception you are welcome to take photos whilst the bride and groom are getting professional photos taken. However, when the professional photographer is taking group shots, we ask that you keep phones away and enjoy the moment. (As a rule of thumb, if you can see the photographer, keep your phone hidden.)
Once the professional photographer has finished for the day, we welcome you to take as many photos and videos as you like, especially ones of you all busting your best moves on the dancefloor!

Where should I stay?

There is a limited amount of on-site accommodation reserved for the bride, groom, and bridal party. However, Carwinion House is situated within the village of Mawnan Smith and is a 15 minute drive from Falmouth, so there are lots of accommodation options nearby, whether you’re looking for a hotel or an AirBnB. Some options to consider:

Hotel Meudon - 15 minute walk

Trelawne Hotel - 20 minute walk

Tresooth Cottages - 5 minute drive

Premier Inn Truro - 20 minute drive

When should I RSVP by?

As soon as possible, but latest by the end of November 2025.

What should I wear?

Ladies
We encourage everyone to wear something they feel comfortable in; for inspiration think cocktail dresses in spring colours and floral patterns. Please kindly avoid wearing white or fuchsia, to avoid coordinating with the bride or bridesmaids! Carwinion House is in the middle of beautiful sub-tropical gardens with gravel footpaths and large areas of lawn. We are hoping that the ceremony will be on grass so please consider this when choosing your footwear. A wedge sandal, block heel, or flats may be good options if you want to avoid sinking into grass!

Gentlemen
We would love to see you in your wedding finery; suit & tie, waistcoats and kilts are all encouraged! Please avoid black suits if possible, it’s a celebration not a funeral!

Weather
Cornwall is considered the warmest county in England, but is also one of the wettest! We are hoping to be able to spend the majority of the day outside, so please bear this in mind and be sure to check the forecast in advance.

We appreciate that Cornwall is not the most convenient wedding location (unless you’re Ian or Josie), and are so grateful that you’re coming to join us. If you’re wanting to make the most of your trip to the south-west, we recommend stopping off at some of our favourite spots:
